The Rochester Alpine Ski Team was founded in 2005 by Barb and Dan Soderberg. They entered a very small team into the Welch Invitational, just to see if it would work. The next year, they began holding official practices, and had a couple of races against other teams. In 2010, the team became a High School Sanctioned sport. The team now has over 40 members, representative of each of the High Schools in Rochester.
