Baseline Concussion Testing

2016 Fall Season Concussion Baseline Testing Dates

* All athlete's are required to baseline test every year, it's changed from the previous years. Below are the dates and times for Fall Concussion Testing.  Please contact Kim in the John Marshall Athletic Office to set up a time for your test - 507-328-5330, kigriffin@rochester.k12.mn.us

Every athlete who plays football, girls soccer, boys soccer,  for John Marshall High School needs to complete baseline testing prior to the 2016-2017 season starting.




Early Season Update

2015  Boys Soccer Tryouts

WHEN ARE TRYOUTS? 

•Tryouts are August 17-21, 2015

•Time: 8:30am to 10:30am and 4:00pm to 6:00pm

•Location: Lincolnshire Park, NW Rochester

•All levels (Varsity, JV, 9th Grade)

WHEN IS THE PRE-SEASON JAMBOREE?

•The Jamboree scrimmages are August 22, 2015

Time: 9:30am to 2:00pm

•Location: Rochester, MN (Fuad Mansour Soccer Complex)

•All Varsity candidates are expected to participate in this event.

•Players and Parents of all levels are invited to attend and support the Rockets!

•Team Social and Potluck to follow the jamboree.

WHEN DO TEAM PRACTICES BEGIN?

•Team practices begin August 24, 2015

•Varsity & JV: 5:00pm to 7:00pm

•9th Grade: 4:00pm to 6:00pm

•Location: Lincolnshire Park, NW Rochester

•Practice times subject to change

ARE TRYOUTS AND PRACTICES MANDATORY?

•Yes, all tryouts, practices, and games are required.

•Players should plan accordingly and schedule study time, work, vacations, appointments, etc. to avoid conflicts with their soccer schedules.

•Missing tryouts or practices could impact your chances of making a team or participating in games.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED?

•Players should bring soccer cleats, shin-guards, ball, and water bottle to all sessions.

•Please remember that shin-guards must meet the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) standard. All players must have shin-guards with this label to participate.

•Game uniforms will be provided by the high school, to be returned to the school at the end of the season.

•All players will be required to purchase socks which are kept by the players. Additional information will be provided later regarding socks.

MANDATORY CONCUSSION TESTING

All students interested in playing  John Marshall Boys Soccer for the 2017 fall season, must complete the MANDATORY concussion testing.  Players need to stop in the Athletic Office before the end of the school year to schedule a time to have their concussion testing completed.  This testing will be done on June 12, 13 and 14th.

 

All players need to have a new concussion test before fall sports starts.  Please pass the word along to anyone that is interested in participating in John Marshall Boys soccer this fall, so that they can get signed up.
