Always BRING BOTH to games because, sometimes, opposing teams or referees ask us to switch.
Must be returned to coach at end of season.
The JM boys soccer team has 4 squads: C, B, Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity.
Varsity is the fourth and highest level of training for JM soccer players. The focus is on being competitive and winning. Playing time in games is not equal or guaranteed.
New Varsity players often spend their first season on the bench, only playing in a Varsity game if a starter is injured or needs a quick break. The lucky ones are called "bubble players" because they practice with Varsity but still have the opportunity to play any/all JV games. This is highly encouraged to keep game skills sharp, demonstrate a desire to continuously learn/improve and, most importantly, set yourself apart as team-first leader.
JV and Varsity players ride the same away-game buses.

Practices are generally Monday through Friday, 5:00-6:30 pm @ Lincolnshire Park.
Exception: no practice on game days
We practice & play in all weather conditions during the season. If it's too hot, we take extra water breaks. If it's too cold, we wear extra layers. If it's too wet, we dry off later. Practices and games are only canceled for tornadoes, lightening and thunder. If/when this happens, coaches post the cancellation on GroupMe.
This is an annual event that takes place immediately following team formation. Varsity players scrimmage with other high schools in 30-minute matchups. Coaches use the games to watch players compete and refine their position/lineup strategies for the new season.

10-10:30 am: JM vs. Lakeville North (Field 5)
10:45-11:15 am: JM vs. Owatonna (Field 6)
11:30-12:00 pm: JM vs. Century (Field 5)
12:15-12:45 pm: JM vs. Byron (Field 5)
Friends, family and teammates are encouraged to attend and cheer for their school. Admission is free and seating is "bring your own".
