Varsity Lettering Standards
To be eligible to earn a varsity letter in football you must participate in the program for the entire season and:
QUALIFYING STANDARDS
- Be a good citizen and abide by the state high school league, district and team rules.
- Complete the season with NO UNEXCUSED absences (both practices and games).
- Turn in all equipment after the season.
AFTER the Qualifying Standards have been met...an athlete may letter by achieving at least 100 points through the following:
PARTICIPATION STANDARDS
50 Points for any of the following:
- Play in 20 Varsity quarters during the season or +50% of available quarters due to injury.
40 Points for any of the following:
- Participate in > 80% of Summer SAQ
- Participate in >80% of Summer OTA's
30 Points for any of the following:
- Hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall season
- Serve the Summer Youth Camp
20 Points for any of the following:
- Meet the Individual Fundraiser Goal
- Receive a Pillar Player Recognition from Coach/School Staff
Exceptions for the following:
- If JM is a state participant, all members of the squad (including members called up at the end of the season) letter provided they meet qualifying standards.
- You may letter if you obtain a season ending injury in a practice or a game as long as there is continued program participation.
- Coaches' discretion implemented.
- A senior, in good standing, that has played 4 years and has not yet lettered is eligible to letter.
