Varsity Head Coach:  Chad Ohl (chohl@rochesterschools.org)

Coaching History:  Coach Ohl is in his 20th year coaching several high school sports.  This includes:  17 years as an assistant football coach at Dover-Eyota and St. Charles, 14 years as an assistant girls basketball coach at Dover-Eyota, and 4 years as the head girls basketball coach at St. Charles.

Family:  Wife – Heather (married since 1994), Son – Ryan (Mayo Clinic Labs),  Daughter – Breanna (recently graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law)

Interests/Hobbies:  Fishing; duck hunting; avid woodworker

Day Job:  Business Education Teacher at John Marshall High School

Fun Fact:  Has never received a technical foul while coaching

 

Varsity Assistant Coach:  Joshua Derr (joshuaallanderr@gmail.com)

Coaching History:  Coach Derr is in his 9th year coaching basketball at the middle school and high school levels and has been coaching at John Marshall High School since 2019.

Family:  Wife – Lisa (married since 2001); Son – Aiden (22) senior at the University of Minnesota, Daughter – Kiera (20) sophmore at the University of Minnesota; Son – Owen (17) junior at JM

Interests/Hobbies:  MN Vikings fan; musician; father of three

Day Job:  Campaign Administrator at Mayo Clinic

Fun Fact:  Was in an Elton John / Billy Joel cover band in HS/College

 

Junior Varsity Coach: Alex Beise (albeise@rochesterschools.org)

Coaching History:  Coach Beise is in his 10th year coaching several high school sports.  This includes: 10 years as an assistant football Coach at John Marshal and Century, 4 years as an assistant boys basketball coach at Century and RCLS. 1 year as an assistant track and field coach at Century. 

Family: Dog- Bentley (2 year old silver lab) 

Interests/Hobbies:  Football, Basketball, and Fishing

Day Job:  Intensive ESP at John Marshall High School and Bartender/Server at Texas Roadhouse

Fun Fact: I can do the wave with my eyebrows and wiggle my ears

 

9th Grade Coach:  Jered McGill (mcgilljp1@gmail.com)

Coaching History:  5 years, all at the youth level, various sports including basketball, soccer, and softball

Family:  Wife – Kaylee (married since 2015), Daughter – Teagan

Interests/Hobbies:  Traveling, cooking, music, playing sports and attending sporting events

Day Job:  Lighting Category Manager at Viking Electric

Fun Fact:  I have travelled to 8 different countries and 17 different states so far
