Miles and JM Shutout Albert Lea
ALBERT LEA -- The John Marshall softball squad scored early and often in Albert Lea on Monday en route to a 10-0 victory. The Rockets scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second and two in the third.
Meanwhile, pitcher Abby Miles was putting up zero after zero. She tossed a five-inning one-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
"It was a very efficient win by our team tonight," said JM head caoch Thang Nguyen. "We made all the plays, got a great game from Abby in the circle and did enough offensively."
Gina Pula had two singles, a double and two RBIs for JM, and Sammy Guetter had two singles, a double, an RBI and scored three runs. Miles also had two RBIs.
JM is 6-3 (3-2 Big 9) and hosts Owatonna on Tuesday.
