I have been one of the organizers of the Med-City Kids’ Marathon for the past 4 years. I have had the privilege of having members of the JM cross-county team help us out each year by leading off and starting the grade-level races. The past 2 years Sam Sonnabend has reached out to us and offered to organize the runners. This year Mitchell Olson and Anders Narum helped organize the distance crew. These kids come in and support and encourage our runners. This year they even split up and ran out to help locate a “missing” runner. They always run with and encourage our last runners and are such great ambassadors of the sport. I know we in education don’t always hear the good things that our students are doing, but I wanted to be sure to let you know about these unsung heroes. I am so grateful and thankful for their big hearts.
Thanks,
Gina Sundsmo
