No School/ Sports COVID-19 Updates

Hi JM Athletics Community,

This spring season has really been one we could not predict or prepare for. I first want to say, I hope each and every one of you are staying home as much as possible and washing hands (for at least 20 seconds with soap) as often as you can. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayo Clinic has had to make some hard choices regarding staffing. I am sure that you have heard/ seen that Mayo Clinic needs to furlough 30,000 employees. I am one of them. I am currently furloughed and am unavailable to you during my furlough. It is not clear when my furlough will end, but I will make an announcement on this page when it is concluded. Currently, we will have to suspend baseline concussion testing pending more information on return to school and athletics. I will do my best to keep you all informed when I have information. It is my honor to serve the JM athletics community and look forward to doing so upon my return from furlough. I hope you all have a wonderful and healthy summer. Please contact one of my supervisors if you have any questions or needs during this time.

Baseline Concussion Testing

Baseline Testing for Fall 2020 sports (Football, Girls Soccer, & Boys Soccer):

Baseline testing is on hold at this time due to safety concerns and staffing issues. We will come up with a plan for testing as soon as we can and will communicate it when that happens. Please have patience as this is an extraordinary time.

Best Regards,

Kaylan Groen, LAT
