The John Marshall softball squad played its final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, and the Rockets made short work of Austin in a 10-0 five inning victory. Abby Gee capped the game in walk-off fashion, hitting a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to end the game via the 10-run rule.

The other star of the game was JM pitcher Melanie Boisen, who had seven strikeouts and gave up just four hits in five innings of shutout work.

"Melanie had one of her best games as she worked ahead, changed speeds, and moved the ball around in the zone," said JM coach Thang Ngyuen. "Offensively we took advantage of our opportunities, got our bunts down and came up with some nice hits. It was a complete team win."

Kaitlyn Ward had two hits and scored twice, and Emily Bowron had a double, two RBIs and scored a run. Grace Freed had a hit, scored a run and laid down two sacrifice bunts.

The Rockets (10-8 overall, 6-4 Big Nine) wrap up the regular season with a double-header at Winona on Thursday.
