APPLE VALLEY — John Marshall dropped its third game in two days with an 11-1 setback to Eastview in non-conference softball on Friday.

The Rockets had dropped a doubleheader against Winona on Thursday.

JM was limited to one hit against Eastview, a single by Megan Karp in the sixth inning. Karp, a freshman who also had JM's lone hit in a game one loss to Winona on Thursday, scored on a sacrifice fly by Abby Gee. Karp was the Rockets' lone base runner.

Julia Luciano had three hits and drove in five runs for Eastview and Melissa Barry hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth to halt the game by the 10-run rule.

"Eastview is one of the top ranked teams in Class AAA and they showed their power, finishing with 15 hits and scoring in every inning other than the first," JM coach Thang Nguyen said.

JM (6-11) will host Mayo in a makeup game at 5 p.m. on Monday.
