Rochester John Marshall High School Athletics

The summer season is only 5 days away from game day!  The Junior Legion hosts Lakeville South Tuesday and the VFW has a double header at Century on Wednesday.  Warning that based on playoff success of the High School teams this weekend, sometimes these teams cancel on early games.  We hope to have our JM Varsity still playing next week but it will not impact our game, we will just alter our rosters if necessary.

We have scheduled a parent/player meeting for Tuesday at 7:45pm at John Adams in the bleachers following the Junior Legion game.  Unfortunately, we are guessing on the time that the game may end,  but we do not want to interrupt the team from pre-game activities and we need to kickoff the season.   We won’t start the meeting until the Junior Legion game completes so enjoy some baseball if your son is not playing in the game!

Players on the Varsity roster will remain with the JM Varsity until the spring season ends.  As stated earlier the plan will be to have 3 teams of 12 players this summer with likely some movement across rosters throughout the first half of the summer.   Communication with the players and their specific roles will be communicated individually over the next couple weeks but this will be the initial assignment.  The initial rosters are based on the final couple weeks of the spring season as a starting point.

Ideally you can bring the payment and the birth certificates Tuesday to the Parent/player  meeting.   The request/requirement is by next Friday or the player will not be able to play until resolved.  If you have issues finding the BC by this time, please let me know sooner rather than later.

There is a joint practice for VFW and Junior Legion today at 6pm at John Adams.  The kids on the varsity roster should NOT attend the summer practice.  Jerseys will be handed out, as well.  While we collected jersey numbers we had to adjust some due to sizes, etc and available jerseys. Example, our JL/VFW jerseys are numbered 1-32 and spread across both teams. 

We are looking forward to a great summer of Patriots and Rocket baseball.
